Since 1968

Javeler Construction Co., Inc., founded in 1968 by James P. Cross, Sr., primarily was an excavation construction company that worked throughout the Southeast region of the USA. In the late 1960's through early 1980's, Javeler used large draglines for excavation projects in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.

Leslie M. Cross, P.E., a graduate from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Civil Engineering, joined our company and became president in 1976. Under his leadership, Javeler grew to become an innovative leader in the dredging industry.

In the mid 1970's, Javeler began work in South Texas. During the next fifteen years, our company constructed several large land developments in the Corpus Christi area (Padre Isles, Pelican Cove and Island Moorings). In 1983, Javeler was the first company in the USA to incorporate a TOYO submersible pump in commercial dredging. This pump was used to construct Island Moorings, a marina and waterfront residential development near Port Aransas, Texas on Padre Island.

Successes and growth continued. Due to the versatility and portability, we diversified our business to utilize the Toyo pump.  Javeler built up an impressive track record developing usage of this pump.  Our dredging systems include the Toyo submersible pumps, electric cable start/stop starters, hose, pipe and trained onsite technicians with extensive experience.   Services include, but are not limited to pipeline burial/retrieval, P&A work, and assist in demob of jack-up rigs. Javeler also provides services in hazardous waste removal, wetland restoration, cofferdam dredging and other forms of environmental dredging, making us the most experienced corporation in the country to use this revolutionized form of dredging. Our experience in moving materials has allowed us to modify these pumps to maximize their capabilities and minimize time and cost.
